Industrial-edged dance from ex-Curve bassist.

Where do old indie musicians go to die? To electronic music and the Internet or course, like everyone else in their trade who falters. It's where they can tinker safely, without the need to confront a potentially ungrateful public ever again. Hence this second album from Dean Garcia, bassist with early-'90s indie heroes Curve, and a loose group of collaborators is principally available via mail order and the Internet. That said, its continuous wash of steely dance sounds is as capable as anything of ruling racks in the high street and it shifts easily from gentle techno (If Now When) through metronomic guitars (Chemical) to sample-peppered ambience (81). What chance a more mainstream release next time round?
